    Authentic Bartending School of Maryland offers a complete course in modern professional bartending -- producing graduates with the knowledge and skills to work in any professional bar, anywhere in the world. Uniquely, each student learns from working behind our fully-equipped realistic modern bar, complete with speedrail, ice bins, and realistic backbar. To successfully obtain certification as a bartender, each student must be able to pass written tests, free pouring accuracy tests and a speed & accuracy drink-making test in order to graduate.

    How old do I need to be to attend bartending school?
    Students must be at least 18 years old to enroll in the bartending certification class at the Authentic Bartending School of Maryland.

    Do I need previous bartending experience to attend the bartending certification class?
    No bartending experience needed. Our classes are open to students at every level --- from the novice to the experienced bartender who desires to get certification.

    I have a regular job. How can learning to bartend benefit me?

    How do I find bartending jobs with no experience?
    One of the benefits of attending Authentic Bartending School of Maryland (ABS) is that we offer Lifetime Job Placement Assistance.     I don’t have time to sit in a classroom
    First, we don’t offer a traditional classroom. We offer a unique learning environment with a 30-foot, professionally equipped bar, hands-on training approach, and a dedicated team of experienced instructors. SCHEDULE

Just like the profession of bartending , our bartending certification class schedule is designed to fit around your schedule. We offer classes during both traditional and non-traditional hours – weekdays, weekends and evenings. Starting dates are every Monday for the weekday and evening classes. Completion dates for the one (1) week course graduation is Friday; for the two (2) week course, graduation is on the second Friday, and for the weekend course, graduation will be on the fifth Sunday. All classes will have periodic five (5) minute breaks, and 9-hour classes held on the weekends will have a thirty (30) minute lunch break.

2 Weeks (Morning) 9:00 am – 1:30 pm Monday - Friday (4.5 Clock hours per day x 10 days = 45 hrs)
2 Weeks (Afternoon)1:30 pm – 6:00 pmMonday - Friday(4.5 Clock hours per day x 10 days = 45 hrs)
2 Weeks (Evening) 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm Monday - Friday(4.5 Clock hours per day x 10 days = 45 hrs)
5 Weekends 9:00 am – 6:30 pm Sunday(9 Clock hours per day x 5 days = 45)

Our bartending certification course is state certified by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) and goes beyond the basics of bartending. At Authentic Bartending School of Maryland, our bartending classes include everything the new and experienced bartender would need and want to know including the following:
